Daria Morgendorffer: Um, thank you. I’m not much for public speaking. Or much for speaking. Or, come to think of it, much for the public. And I’m not very good at lying. So let me just say that, in my experience, high school sucks. If I had to do it all over again, I’d have started advanced placement classes in preschool so I could go from eighth grade straight to college. However, given the unalterable fact that high school sucks, I’d like to add that if you’re lucky enough to have a good friend and a family that cares it doesn’t have to suck quite as much. Otherwise my advice is; Stand firm for what you believe in, until and unless experience proves you wrong. Remember, when the emperor looks naked, the emperor is naked. The truth and a lie are not sort of the same thing. And there is no aspect, no facet, no moment of life that can’t be improved with pizza. Thank you.

Well…it hasn’t seen much activity…

…but I have decided to start posting here on tumblr. All I need to do is to start. But I have some thoughts I want to put out into the ether.

Not starting tonight, but soon (I hope)

Another one???

One thing I do not need in my life is another social networking site…

I have a personal site full of musings that I haven’t updated in years… I love connecting to old friends on Facebook, but don’t really blog there… I’m on Twitter, but could count all of my posts over the last year and a half on my two hands… Tumblr appears to be a bit easier to post to than my Blogger page, and perhaps I’ll post more frequently, but I doubt it…

Perhaps Tumblr can become a space for more detailed observations than on Twitter, maybe a space for more personal thoughts than I want to share on Facebook, or an outlet for my less angry rants than on Blogger…

…or maybe it’ll just another piece of cyber-real-estate with my name on it…

The great man is he who, in the midst of the world, keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude. Ralph Waldo Emerson
